Meet The Founder

Aurah Living was founded by Amber Aqil in 2024 — a house born from a love of Mughal and Persian painting and a conviction that the most beautiful homes tell stories.

Based in Virginia, United States, Amber leads the house's art direction across three disciplines: Art, Home, and Fashion. What began as a deep fascination with the architectural poetry of the Mughal, Indo-Islamic, and Silk-Route worlds has grown into a living design language — one that draws from jharokhas, pietra dura florals, geometric tilework, and the quiet light of courtyards, and brings that language into modern interiors and wardrobes.

At the heart of the house is restoration. Centuries-old paintings, held today in museum archives, are carefully restored so their colour and detail return to their original brilliance. Alongside them, Aurah Originals reimagine the same motifs for contemporary homes. The goal is simple: to make culturally rich, museum-grade art accessible to homes and lives around the world.
