The Sasanian hero-king Bahram Gur charges through a hilly landscape on his red horse, drawing his bow against fleeing antelope; companions on a white charger and a chestnut horse close in behind him, falcons aloft, the prey scattering across green meadow strewn with rocks. Persian verses from the Shahnama are inset into the upper-right of the painting in nasta'liq script. A richly gilded ground and an indigo-and-gold floral border frame the scene.

From a sixteenth-century Persianate Shahnama. Restored from the museum archives by Aurah Living.

Printed on premium matte paper, finished within a slim wooden frame with cream mat. Available in Black, Red Oak, and White frames.
