Kerman Bouquet — Ivory Floral Persian Area Rug

A calm ivory field holds a slender column of vases and bouquets, with floral sprays around the edge and a wide raspberry border.

Kerman Bouquet is inspired by the carpets of Kerman in southeast Iran, the Persian weaving centre best known for naturalistic flowers. Kerman designers drew roses, vases and bouquets almost like botanical paintings, and in the early 20th century they wove open-field rugs with pale ivory grounds that became especially popular in American homes.

We kept the field open and light, with raspberry, rose, slate blue and soft green flowers, so the rug feels airy and romantic, with plenty of breathing space.
