Shawl Buta — Paisley Wide-Leg Trousers

Before it was ever called paisley, the buta was a Mughal flowering plant: poppies, tulips and a single open bloom, its tip bending as if in a garden breeze. The emperors prized it woven into the corners of their shawls.

Here one large buta curls up each leg, framed in saffron florets and flame-like leaves, on deep burgundy dusted with gold.

The shawl the court treasured, reimagined as a statement trouser.

• Relaxed wide leg with an elastic, adjustable waistband and side pockets
• Unisex sizing, 2XS–6XL

Care

• Wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle; do not bleach
• Tumble dry low or hang dry; do not iron directly on the print
• Printed cotton has a soft matte finish, so colours read slightly more muted than on screen
