The emperor Akbar, in saffron robes, oversees masons, carpenters, and labourers as they raise the sandstone walls and palaces of his new imperial capital Fatehpur Sikri. Elephants haul stone blocks up a ramp, workers cut beams, scaffolding climbs the half-built ramparts — the bustle of a great construction site captured in immaculate Mughal detail. Painted by Balchand for an imperial Akbarnama.

A late-sixteenth-century Mughal manuscript folio. Restored from the museum archives by Aurah Living.

Printed on premium matte paper, finished within a slim wooden frame with cream mat. Available in Black, Red Oak, and White frames.
