Four Portraits from the Shah Jahan Album — Restored Mughal Wall Art

Four princely figures stand in formal composure, each set within its own panel and crowned by an ornate green-and-gold floral hashiya — a quartet of courtiers from the Shah Jahan Album, the imperial Mughal compendium gathered in the seventeenth century. Their robes — embroidered tunics, striped jamas, simple cotton — speak to the careful gradations of Mughal court dress, while the surrounding flora carries the same sense of measured beauty.

Each painting in our restored collection is digitally restored from the museum archives by Aurah Living — color-corrected, cleaned of scan artifacts, and prepared at archival print quality. The folio's painted inset, decorative hashiya, and original cream paper margins are all preserved in the print.
