Heriz Ember — Rust & Indigo Persian Area Rug

The classic Heriz look: a big indigo-and-ivory star medallion on a brick-rust field, inside an ivory border of angular palmettes.

Heriz Ember is drawn in the spirit of the carpets woven in the Heriz villages of northwest Iran, near Tabriz. Their weavers favoured a single dominant medallion, angular corner spandrels and a strong rust-red ground, a design that reads clearly from across a room. Heriz rugs earned their reputation in the late 19th century, when Western buyers sought them out for their graphic scale.

Brick rust, deep indigo, camel and ivory keep the palette warm and traditional, with soft sky-blue accents to lift the medallion.
